Homemade treatment for chapped lips

It is really very important to protect our lips from the factors such as low humidity, cold winds and other environmental changes because lips do not produce natural oils. Therefore it is essential to give them protection by using homemade chapped lips treatment.
Here are some homemade treatments for chapped lips:

Honey and Vaseline for chapped lips

Honey is loaded with an amazing healing and anti-bacterial agents. Follow some simple tips for their application:

  • First of all apply, honey on your lips.
  • Let it dry for a few seconds to 2 or 3 minutes.
  • Now, you are free to apply Vaseline.
  • Live them on for about 10-15 minutes.
  • Finally, use a Q-tip dipped in hot water to remove the honey and Vaseline.
  • You will definitely feel full relief within 2 or 3 days.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is also used in the treatment of chapped lips. Apply it on your lips several times a day.

Juice for dry chapped lips

Mix 1 tablespoon watercress + 1 table spoon spinach juice + I table spoon carrot juice , now add two tablespoons of wheat germ + 1 tablespoon of nutritional yeast and 1 glass of tomato juice. Drink it on a regular basis in order to prevent dry lips.

Stay hydrated

Try to drink lot of water throughout the day in order to keep your body fully hydrated because dehydration is the main cause of dry or chapped lips,

Cucumbers for chapped lips

Rub a slice of cucumber on your lips or apply its juice.

Aloe Vera for chapped lips

If you are suffering from chapped lips then try to apply a small amount of Aloe Vera gel on your lips daily.

Petroleum jelly or beewax

Protect your lips by using lubricant cream (oil based) or you can also use petroleum jelly or beewax before going out from your home, in order to protectect your lips. Apply balm that contains sunscreen or lip cream and then cover your lips with a scarf. Avoid licking your lips because in some cases when chapped lips become a painful problem due to habitual licking In such case you should use a medicated lip balm and also avoid using flavored balm for your children as it can encourage more licking.
